Booking & Move-In Process
What’s included in my rent?

What time of the day can I move in?
You can arrive anytime from 9am on the start date of your tenancy or anytime thereafter, as we have a 24/7 onsite team who will check you in.
What happens if there is a maintenance issue in my studio/apartment?
You can book a maintenance request on your student online portal.
Can I order kitchen and bedding equipment in advance?

Services & Facilities
What amenity spaces do you have?
We offer a wide range of amenity spaces designed to support study, wellbeing and social life.
On the ground floor you will find co working areas and a reception that is staffed 24/7. SPACE also has its own Social Hub common room and an event auditorium for activities and resident events.
For studying, there is a library style study room and private study pods, giving you the option of quiet focused space or collaborative working. Residents also have access to a 24 hour onsite gym, a private dining room with kitchen that can be booked for meals or celebrations, and on site laundry facilities.
Everyday essentials are covered too, with a convenience store located within the building.
Looking ahead to 2026, we will be introducing additional bookable private study spaces, a larger SPACE convenience market, and a cafe restaurant, further enhancing the day to day experience for residents.
Will my room be cleaned?
For effortless student living, we offer a flexible cleaning subscription so you can enjoy a spotless room without lifting a finger. Choose from weekly or monthly cleans at a small additional cost and let our professional team take care of the rest, leaving you more time to focus on studying, socialising, or simply relaxing.

What is the difference between rooms?
Studios are self- contained with their own kitchen facilities. All apartments have en-suite bedrooms with shared living and kitchen spaces.
Does every room have a kitchen?
Our self-contained studios have their own kitchen, and our 2,3 & 4 bedroom apartments have a generous shared kitchen.
Does every room have a bathroom?
Yes, whether you are in a self-contained studio or a shared apartment, all of our bedrooms are en-suite.
I am booking by myself but want to share with others, is this possible?
Yes, our 2, 3 and 4 bedroom apartments are the perfect solution for sharing.
What if I have a disability or special requirement?
We cater for all students, please get in touch with our onsite team to discuss your personal requirements.
Can you have a TV in the room?
We provide TVs in all shared apartments, bedrooms and studios.
Can I change my room?
If we can help, we will try our best to accommodate any room change requests.

Rent & Payments
Paying Your Rent
When do i pay my rent?
If you have a valid UK Guarantor, you can choose to pay your rent in three or eight instalments. These will be due:-
Three instalments – August, January and April.
Eight instalments – August, October, November, December, January, February, March and April.
If you don’t have a valid UK Guarantor, you are required to pay the full rent in August, 2 weeks prior to your contract start date.
Please note you must have paid the rent due by the time you arrive to check in.
All payment dates are detailed in your tenancy.
How do i pay my rent?
We always recommend making your rent payments through your account page in our web portal, or you can set up a Direct Debit. If you have any difficulties, please contact the SPACE Team.
Can i pay in instalments?
If you have a UK guarantor you can pay rent in three or eight instalments, and we ask for the initial payment two weeks before checking in.
If you do not have a UK guarantor you will be required to pay your rent in full, twoweeks before the date your tenancy commences.
What's included in my rent?
Can i move in before i pay my rent?

Do i need a guarantor?
Yes, as part of our booking process all bookings require a guarantor. To keep things simple and stress free, your guarantor just needs to meet the following criteria:
- Be over 21 years of age
- Provide a copy of photographic identification, such as a passport, driving licence, or official ID
- Provide proof of address dated within the last three months, for example a utility bill or bank statement
We are happy to accept international guarantors, making the process straightforward wherever you are based.
Paying Your Deposit
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No, there is no deposit to pay. During the booking process we take a £1 payment purely to verify your payment details, this is not a deposit and does not form part of your rent.
Travel & Accessibility
How far is the university from my accommodation?
SPACE is located an easy 15–20 minute stroll to the centre of St Andrews and the main faculty buildings.
Can I bring my bike?
Yes, secure bike storage is provided.
What about bringing my car?
Yes, car parking can be booked via your online student portal.
International Students
I am in a different country, how can I view studio and apartment options?
We are very flexible with our viewing options, and offer 360 tours and live video call appointments. Please contact us to find out more.
Can I pay my reservation fee and rent from a different country?
What do I bring when I move in?
As you get ready to move into your new room, here’s a quick checklist to help you settle in comfortably. We provide a kettle and basic pots and pans, so no need to pack those! You’ll want to bring:
- Bedding (sheets, duvet, pillows)
- Towels and toiletries
- Clothes hangers
- Laundry supplies (basket, detergent)
- Kitchen essentials like cutlery, plates, mugs, and food storage containers
Cleaning supplies (sponges, dish soap, etc.) - Personal items to make your space feel like home (photos, desk lamp, decor)
What support do you offer to help international students settle in?
From your very first day at SPACE, you will be surrounded by a whole community of international students from all over the world. To support you, we will offer guided walking tours of St Andrews, meet & greets and social events to help you forge new friendships and build your own support network.
